Back Cover

In this psychological, paranormal thriller, Lacey is dealing with the death of her grandmother. At the same time, she is astonished to find someone is harassing her. Unfortunately, she finds what is happening to her is related to her past and the secrets she thought were hidden concerning her mothers' death ten years ago. As the events escalate, Lacey is going to need help not only from this world to protect her, but maybe from the next world where her grandma, grandpa and mothers' spirits are hopefully watching over her.

Review

Shortly after the death of her grandmother, Lacey's turbulent past comes back to haunt her when someone breaks into her workshop and destroys one of her creations. This act of vandalism quickly escalates as Lacey and Paul, the town's sheriff and her friend, try to figure out who is behind these events. Lacey suspects that somebody from the other side is seeking revenge for acting in self defense, but Paul believes that someone connected to the death of Lacey's mother is to blame.

Will Lacey and Paul find out who is to blame for these acts before Lacey is hurt?

As the title suggests, the plot is not focused on readers figuring out who the perpetrator is; it is about discovering how the perpetrator is connected to Lacey's past and why the person acted against Lacey. Winn does not mince words as she quickly fills readers in on Lacey's past. Even though Lacey does not want to believe it, readers learn early on that the vandalism of Lacey's workshop and car are connected to events from her past.

Winn has a knack for keeping a plot moving forward at a quick pace while developing the characters and setting. Readers will not find pages upon pages of character history and dialogue that does not relate to the plot; Winn effortlessly brings readers up to speed and builds suspense as she unfolds events that will lead us to discover what motivated the perpetrator to act out against Lacey.

True to Winn's style of writing, Correlations is a suspenseful and easy read that is clean of graphic violence. I highly recommend this book to readers who are looking for a suspenseful read that they can easily finish in a day.
