Marvelous Monday, TBR, On My Kindle Book Reviews

Despite the holiday season, there isn't too much going on here at the On My Kindle household. We got a little bit of snow and ice around here this weekend and decided to give the little boots that we bought for Lexi a try. However, Lexi wanted nothing to do with them and managed to kick them off; even though she hates getting her paws wet.

Speaking of Lexi, we have found her a fantastic groomer. After the problems we had with the groomer that worked with Lexi last time we took her, a friend on Facebook recommended one of her former neighbors. I checked the groomer, Ashley, out on Facebook and noticed that she has quite a bit of experience with small dogs, and a couple of her regulars are Maltese!

I liked what she did with her Maltese clients, so we decided to give her a shot. I'm glad that we did! We talked about some of the challenges that I sometimes face grooming Lexi, particularly how difficult it is for me to clean her eyes and groom her beard. We also brought nail caps for Ashley to apply so that Lexi won't accidentally scratch me when we play.

Lexi, groomer,Marvelous Monday, On My Kindle Book Reviews,

We were both impressed to see that our little girl wasn't stressed when we picked her up, even with the application of the nail caps. I complimented Ashley on how she trimmed Lexi's beard so that it was easy to clean but still looked good. She sheepishly admitted that Lexi decided to try to lick her paws while Ashley was applying the nail caps and got glue in her beard, so she had to cut it.

I appreciate that she owned it, without sounding like she was blaming Lexi; however, I like how short the beard is. Grooming it will be so much easier! I also liked how she trimmed the hair on Lexi's ears to look blunt; it gives Lexi a more playful, puppy look and really allows people to see how expressive she is.

Lexi decided that Ashley is definitely a keeper, so we set another appointment for next month on the spot!

To be Reviewed

I managed to read both books on my TBR list last week, and I've already started reading a book from this week's TBR list.

A Design for Love, Madge H. Gressley, romance, short story, to be reviewed, On My Kindle Book Reviews     Minutes Before Sunset, Shannon A. Thompson, paranormal, clean, to be reviewed, On My Kindle Book Reviews

To be Read

This week's TBR list has three books on it because I have a review for Sprkit that needs to be done, the final book in the Super Sporty series is being released on December 28th, and then I have a cover reveal/review for the third book in the Paranormal Detectives series coming out on January 1st.

We are Going to a Wedding, Robert Davies Higgins, romance, TBR, On My Kindle Book Reviews
Veronica and her best friend and business partner Elizabeth work long hard hours preparing to open a high class art and gift shop in the English Lake District. With the work completed, they decide to take a short break before the grand opening, and they go to a beautiful country hotel for a few days to chill out. They befriend a young Australian waitress, who has a bubbly fun filled personality. When a huge old American Cadillac drives into the parking lot, a competition between the three of them ensues as to what the handsome driver does for a living, and who is going to win his heart!

Great fun, and exciting adventures follow, but who indeed will win the heart of the tall handsome stranger?
This is going to be a shorter post because I cannot the find author's bio and I cannot find him anywhere on social media.

Super Sporty 9, Ellie Firestone, children, TBR, On My Kindle Book Reviews

I don't have a back cover blurb for this book yet; however, it will be released on December 28, 2016!

Right to Silence, Lily Luchesi, TBR, On My Kindle Book Reviews

The truth can be deadly.

In the first of this two-part novel, we learn the history of hunters Brighton Sands and Mark Evans in their two lifetimes, culminating in their final battle with the insane vampire they have been hunting for centuries.

In the second part, with Angelica Cross still on the run, multiple vampiric murders lead to the kidnapping of a famous vamp. Detective Danny Mancini must drag a mortal into the bowels of Hell in order to rescue her.

But why does Leander Price want her so badly, and what does she have to do with an ancient vampire prophecy?

Please note that this book is suitable for readers 17+ due to violence and adult language. It also features LGBT+ characters.
I have a really diverse and interesting haul this week: a fun romance, a book for kids, and a paranormal novel.

What's on your TBR list this week? Let me know in the comments.

Have a marvelous Monday and a happy holiday!
