I found out last week that sales of the "No More Walls!" design on CafePress broke $500 on the Marketplace.

Granted, the commission that I earn from Marketplace sales is 10-percent, versus the higher rate that I receive for purchases from my custom store; however, I'll have made enough to receive my first royalty payment from CafePress!

I've been struggling to share My Life's Miscellany regularly on social media. It seems that the majority of my followers on social media are other store owners or designers. This is definitely cool on Facebook where I can offer styling tips for the apparel that my designs are on while promoting other shop owners' apparel and accessories. However, this is tougher to accomplish on Twitter where using automation to engage users is standard practice.

To combat this, I'm reaching out to customers who have purchased my designs on the CafePress Marketplace. CafePress allows us to send "thank you" notes to customers, so I've been personally thanking each customer for their purchases and inviting them over to the My Life's Miscellany website to see more of my designs. Then, 30 to 60 days after their purchases, I send a follow-up email asking them to leave a review on the store's Facebook page.

I've also re-worked the design, "Equal Rights for Everybody (ERE)" by changing the graphic and rearranging the text. To celebrate the release of this design, I'm offering it exclusively to My Life's Miscellany VIP members before I make it available to the general public.

That's all the news I have for you this week, so let's talk about which books I'm reading and which books have made it to my TBR list this week.
