You didn't miss last week's Marvelous Monday post, I didn't share one. I was still feeling a little out of sorts and just spaced it until the last minute.
Lexi is fully recovered from her dental procedure! She is eating dry kibble and demolished one of her "DreamSticks" (an alternative to rawhide) in one evening last week. However, she seems even more reluctant to have her teeth brushed than she was before. I'm a little concerned by this as she is acting like me when I've been triggered and I'm re-living a past trauma. It sucks because I have to brush her remaining teeth to prevent future issues with her physical health, but I am also concerned for her emotional wellbeing if I have to keep fighting with her to do it.
All concerns aside, Lexi is being a complete brat! I bought her this nifty toy from Playology called a "Pebble Chew." I thought it would be a fantastic alternative to bully sticks because it smells like food but it isn't food, and it's made from a material that gives a bit when she chews. I chose the bacon variety because she loves bacon; however, I ordered the medium-sized one and realized that this was a mistake when she attempted to pick it up but couldn't hold it. I contacted the incredibly nice people at Playology and they sent me a smaller replacement free of charge, but now she won't touch it unless I smear peanut butter or cheese on it.

Here she is playing with the chew because it has peanut butter on it. She is just so aggravatingly fussy sometimes!

Enough about some fussy, ungrateful, and spoiled little white dog; you're probably wondering what I've been reading lately!
Yeah, I haven't really been reading all that much lately. My mind has been on other things, like realizing that I've been averaging around 12-hours a week at the shoe store and that it's time for me to find a job with an employer that can give me closer to 24-hours a week. It's a bit of a bummer but I need to be able to meet Lexi's, and my, basic needs.

I've really been looking forward to reading all of these books and I'll be making an effort to find the time to start on these this week!
