When Olivia trades her promising career for a more domestic lifestyle as a wife and mother, she expects many things but never to see ghosts much less be one.

Her life with her handsome husband, Brandon, a successful criminal lawyer, starts as a happy one, but following a tragedy, guilt, alcohol and drugs crush their blissful world in a hurry. One minute Olivia is planning to leave the marriage and the next she's floating at the foot of her son's bed. Dead. Murdered. And all evidence points to Brandon as the prime suspect.

She is angry and determined to make him pay, but soon, she learns that if she wants justice, she must follow the clues that reach back into Brandon's past.

Suspenseful, romantic and awash in the afterlife thrill, She Never Got To Say Goodbye captures the power of love and friendship.

Olivia Jeffries is a law student who is working diligently to earn her degree and trying to decide which law firm she will begin her career with after she graduates. She has no plans for love but is swept off her feet by an attractive thirty-five-year-old lawyer, Brandon Olson.

After a whirlwind romance, Brandon proposes to Olivia. The two  get married and have a child together; however, this happy ending does not last long for the couple. After Brandon accepts a case as a favor to a judge and loses, he falls into a deep depression and turns to drugs and alcohol for solace. The couple argues frequently and Olivia gives Brandon an ultimatum; quit using, or she will take the baby and leave.

This ultimatum seems to be the wake up call that Brandon needs, but when he starts hitting the bottle again, Olivia says she is leaving. One minute Olivia is leaving Brandon, the next minute she is floating next to her dead body. She is sure that Brandon has killed her and is determined to seek revenge for her death.

Will Olivia's quest for revenge prevent her from finding justice for her murder?

This fast-paced paranormal novel combines elements of mystery, thriller, suspense, and romance to create a short and complex novel that is difficult to put down. While I normally prefer novels that focus on character development, I think that Iova did a good job of elaborating on the characters' personalities without slowing down the pace or detracting from the plot.

The plot definitely has some twist and turns in it, but I also think that it is a bit predictable in some aspects. In this case, having some predictability in the plot helps to maintain its realism. For instance, most readers are expecting a whirlwind romance to go south; this happens in real life, so it would be unrealistic if the relationship was dreamy.

If there is one thing about the book that I loved, it is the fact that Olivia is able to make herself visible to people outside of her family. This allows her to play a vital role in discovering who her killer really is. I found this interesting because ghosts in most stories will appear in dreams or can only be heard by certain people. I think this added a little something extra to an already compelling plot.

Despite the lack of character and setting development, I really enjoyed this book. It is a page-turner and I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for an enjoyable and light one-day read.
