Marvelous Monday with Lexi

Marvelous Monday with Lexi: April 21, 2018 Edition, @lexithemaltese1, On My Kindle Book Reviews

Mommy has been ignoring me ALL WEEK! She's been messing around with her computer, rather than playing with me.

Mommy's been filling out applications and writing cover letters to find a job. To be fair, her efforts bore some fruit as she has received two job offers: the first is an offer for a part-time telecommute tech support position. This offer is contingent on her passing a background check. I have been waiting for the company to come sniff her butt, but it hasn't happened. I guess my definition of a "background check" differs from the human definition. The second offer is also a part-time telecommuting position as a search engine evaluator. She'll have the job if she can pass some qualifying tests. Hopefully one, or even both, will work out so she can save up some money to have my knee x-rayed, buy me food and treats, and maybe even buy another super-expensive toy for me to snub.

Mommy says that a "telecommute" job will allow her to work from home. If this is true, I can hang out with her all the time and she won't have to leave me to go to work! Then again, she'll still spend most of her time working with that stupid computer.

Enough about me and my woes, Mommy's been reading a lot lately and she wants to me share what she's reading.

GOLDILOCKS LIVES IN LEAMINGTON by Geetanjali Mukherjee on Goodreads
"I learnt in my second semester that college life can be thrilling, but you might want to pack a shield."

With plenty of self-deprecating remarks and tongue firmly in cheek, Geetanjali writes about her days as an international student at a leading university in England. Although covering the usual topics of academics and crushes and part-time jobs, this isn't your usual "handbook of student life". Geetanjali takes you along on an adventure as she samples her way across a non-traditional college experience, from joining a Rock Gospel choir to singing in a Portuguese band to fending off sword-attacks in the middle of the night. Whether you are a student embarking on your own college adventure, or simply looking to revisit your university antics, you will enjoy this unique collection of essays.
Mommy just finished reading Goldilocks and still needs to review it, but that hasn't stopped her from starting the next book, The Gold Dragon Caper.

HE GOLD DRAGON CAPER by Phyllis Entis on Goodreads
A missing boy. A stolen nugget. A shocking revelation.

Derek Turpin is set on revenge, and no one is safe, least of all Damien and Millie. Yet, duty and friendship call, pulling the detective duo in opposite directions. While Damien is engaged in a race against time to rescue young Artie Sutherland, Millie goes to the aid of a sister-in-law she has never met.

The Gold Dragon Caper is the fourth book in the Damien Dickens Mysteries series.

I'd appreciate it if you could tell Mommy and Uncle Mike to pay more attention to me. Even if you don't, I hope you have a marvelous Monday and a super week!
