Marvelous Monday with Lexi

Week of May 28th, Marvelous Monday with Lexi!

I'm back! I really missed sharing my adventures with you every week and I am glad that Mommy is able to be online a bit more now.

As you can see, I've been to my groomer, Miss Ashley, recently. Miss Ashley acquired some new crates with hard walls rather than wire. On one paw, I'm sad that I can't meet any potential playmates. On the other paw, I was a bit calmer when Mommy and Uncle Mike picked me up. Mommy also purchased a new toy for me, a Kong Wishbone. She tried putting some of the Kong Sweet Potato paste stuff in it, but it made me sick. Now she spreads a little cheese or some of the soft food she mixes with my kibble and stuffs a few pieces of kibble in it. I enjoy licking the cheese and soft food out and I've figured out a few ways to get the kibble out of it too!

Mommy and I struggled a bit with her new job; she was told that she'd work four five-hour days a week, but she ended up working more than that. She was also told that she wouldn't have to work Mondays after the initial training and she scheduled her psychology appointments accordingly; however, she discovered that she was misinformed several times about the scheduling expectations. After many restless nights filled with anxiety and night terrors, and one night when she took the nasty Prazosin that makes her feel dizzy and sick the next day, Mommy finally figured out that all of the conflicting information was a trigger. Between not knowing when she was working and having to cancel several of her psychology appointments, she just couldn't cope with the anxiety and stress and decided to quit.

Since I'm already telling on Mommy, she had no energy while she was working. She'd work her eight-hour days, eat, watch some Netflix, try to read, and then went to bed and tossed and turned all night. She didn't want to play her games, play with me, write on the blog, check out Facebook... nothing! I know she was trying to get used to working for that company and the schedule, but I thought something was very, very wrong.

I really don't understand human behavior. I mean, why do humans allow themselves to be bitten multiple times before realizing that you need to bare your teeth, growl, and bite back (or run away) to avoid getting bitten again? I know she needs a job to support us but when she's having nightmares about one of her psychologists feeding her glass, it's time to take action. Besides, when she doesn't sleep well, I don't sleep well!

I think I'm done telling on Mommy for the time being and now I can tell you about the books Mommy is reading.
