Marvelous Monday with Lexi!

Marvelous Monday with Lexi at On My Kindle Book Reviews: July 9th

Hello, I'm glad to be back! I hope everyone had a nice holiday. To be honest, the 4th of July isn't very fun for me because I hate, hate, hate fireworks! They are so loud and it seemed like the neighbors were waiting for Uncle Mike or Mommy to take me outside to start blowing them up. Uncle Mike and Mommy would wait until it was somewhat quiet out before taking me outside but the minute we stepped outside, "Boom!" The neighbors are just big ol' meanies, to put it politely. Mommy calls them something else.

Mommy worked from 2pm to midnight three nights last week; she worked almost 40 hours total for the week. The cashier who normally closes had newmonia (Mommy says it's spelled "pneumonia" but that doesn't seem right) and tried to come to work a couple of nights, but she was sent home because Mommy said she'd stay and work for her.

Mommy also got something called a "write-up" on a night she worked until midnight. One of the managers said she made a mistake on a WIC transaction and wrote her up. I guess a "write-up" is a bad thing, but Mommy isn't upset. She thinks it's funny how she's only been working at the store for a month and has already gotten herself in trouble. She says a few of her co-workers are upset with the manager for writing her up because she's new and he really didn't explain why the first items she tried to scan weren't "WIC-approved." She and the customer found what they thought was approved food, it was; however, the check specified several four-packs and not single jars.

Since Mommy is Mommy, she came home after being written up and managed to find the Missouri WIC training material for cashiers online. She now knows that the four-packs of baby food the customer was trying to purchase using WIC weren't approved because they were "two-ingredient" foods, instead of "one-ingredient" foods. It's still pretty confusing to me, but Mommy assures me that she understands.

Just Finished

Mommy wasn't able to read as much as she wanted last week; however, she did manage to finish this adventure novel that is narrated by a dog.

It is good to be back again. I'm gonna go outside and go potty; maybe I'll get to see my new friend, Moose. Uncle Mike's nephew is staying downstairs for a while and he brought Moose, a six-month-old pittie/lab mix. Moose is a lot bigger than me and a bit derpy, but I still like playing with him.

Until next week, have a marvelous Monday and a wonderful week!
