Marvelous Monday with Lexi!

Marvelous Monday with Lexi: Dec 17th Edition!

Good afternoon everybody! It's been a bit cold here lately so I've just been hanging out with Mommy inside.

The issue with Paypal was resolved. Mommy has employed several optional security measures to make it difficult for somebody to break into her account again. Mommy's bank was kind enough to refund the overdraft fee they charged to her account after the $1000 transfer was declined for insufficient funds. Mommy still feels that Paypal should have immediately canceled the transaction when she advised them it was fraudulent and she would close her Paypal account; however, it's the only method she can use to receive payment for services rendered.

Mommy is still searching for a job that will be a good fit. The Head Start program she interviewed with contacted her last week and told her that they were still considering her for the bus aide position. Since she hadn't heard back from them in over week, she assumed they had decided to offer the position to another candidate and she applied for a position at the local library. She didn't expect to hear back from the library; however, she received a call last Monday inviting her to come in to take assessments and speak to somebody. The appointment is today at 2, so we'll have to see how that goes.

Just Finished

THE LOST GIRLS OF PARIS by Pam Jenoff on Goodreads.
From the author of the runaway bestseller The Orphan’s Tale comes a remarkable story of friendship and courage centered around three women and a ring of female spies during World War II.
Mommy's been reading quite a bit lately and she just finished The Lost Girls of Paris. She won a print copy of the ARC from Bookish First and has been meaning to read it for a few weeks now. Since she's already posted a review on Goodreads, I'm not spoiling the surprise when I tell you the book isn't one of her favorites. She'll be sharing her full review on the blog next month, so keep an eye out for it.

THE END OF MAY by K.B. Richards on Goodreads
Marcella Burke, an ambitious young woman, forms a friendship with a deceitful New York City escort. As Marcella's dreams begin to unfold, she encounters an unimaginable setback––the loss of a loved one. Subsequently, her life spirals out of control, and she struggles to maintain her lifestyle. Her new friend offers a solution to her problems, but it comes with a price. Tough times force her to question her morality, ponder her worth, and cross paths with a man who alters the course of her life forever.
Mommy enjoys reading this kind of literary fiction and she really hasn't had the opportunity to do so for quite some time.

Up Next

TIDS, BOOK 3: PEOPLE PROBLEMS by Deb McEwan on Goodreads  TRIGGERED by Michael Evans on Goodreads

Guess who is featured in People Problems! It's me! Deb was gracious enough to include me in the adventures of "The Island Dog Squad." Mommy couldn't resist peeking at the first chapter and it starts out really sad, but she also knows that my situation in the book will improve. I am so grateful to Deb for including me and I can't wait for Mommy to read this book.

Rather than writing my usual "Marvelous Monday" post next week, I'll be sharing a special holiday message with you. Make sure to stop by next Monday, Christmas Eve, to see my special message to you.

Until then, have a marvelous Monday and a wonderful week!

Licks and wags,
