Marvelous Monday with Lexi!

April 1, 2019 Edition

Marvelous Monday, April 1st image of Lexi after her bath last week.

Good morning humans and furbabies! I think it's been two weeks since my last post and things have been topsy-turvy for Mommy and me.

Even though Mommy has been struggling with depression, she managed to give me a bath last week. As you can see from the photo, I was pretty butt-hurt about it. Mommy's been doing a bit better lately because she's made some decisions about keeping her work and home lives separate. She's also been going in and working a little early in the afternoons so she can visit the kiddos who ride her bus. Several of them are happy to see her every afternoon, which makes Mommy's day, and she's learning more about conscious discipline by watching how their teachers deal with different situations.

Big News

I have some very big news to share with you! Mommy signed a lease with the Housing Authority last week and is moving into a studio apartment this week. It's significantly smaller than the one she was offered last month, so she was very disappointed at first. Then, she realized it was a good thing because she didn't have to worry about furnishing a big apartment. Recliners and sofas are just too big for the apartment and, even used, are a little too rich for her. She decided to look for used small wingback or swivel chairs and managed to find a couple. She scored a small wingback chair for free and a small swivel chair for $15. This means that she's good on furniture and small appliances, but she still has some storage, cleaning, and pantry needs to work out.

Mommy wants to be moved in by the 5th to give her a little time to get used to being in the apartment without Uncle Mike before she has to work on Monday. In other words, she needs time to process the change and possibly get through a couple of rough nights. As soon as she learned her new address, Mommy applied for low-income internet service; however, it's unlikely that she will have it by the time she moves in. Her plan is to schedule next week's reviews and social media this week so she can use her mobile data to respond to messages and mentions. If we need to, we can visit Uncle Mike every weekend to schedule reviews and social media for the upcoming week until we have internet service.

Since we still plan on visiting Uncle Mike, we're leaving the bed Mommy put beside her desk with him and Mommy bought me a new one to take with us. She gave it to me a few weeks ago to give me time to get used to it. It's a cuddler bed so I haven't mastered getting into yet, but I like it. Mommy plans on setting up my crate in the apartment with my big bed so I'll have a place that is mine to hide out in until I get used to our new home.

This upcoming week is going to be super-busy for Mommy and me, but we're both excited to start a new chapter in our lives. I hope you have a marvelous Monday and a fantastic week!
