Hello, humans! August is "Admit You're Happy Month," hence the reason for the smiley emoticon background for this week's "Marvelous Monday" images.

By the time you read this, I'll be at the vet's waiting to have the growths behind my right front leg removed. Mommy did tell you that the vet called with the test results on Tuesday last week, right? She's pretty sure she did; however, she doesn't recall. You'll have to forgive her, she is having issues with focus and memory.

Anyway, on Tuesday last week, the vet called Mommy and told her that the pathology report indicated that the growths are keratinized lesions. These types of lesions are usually benign; however, after they have been removed, the vet will have them tested for malignancy. The vet told Mommy that the prognosis was much better than she had anticipated. While this is fantastic news, it confirmed Mommy's suspicion that the vet was being vague and withholding her honest opinion before.

Mommy's received several installments of backpay from SSI and SSDI, so she's been doing some shopping. She's replaced a lot of the clothes that she bought while she was married because her body has changed and she doesn't have somebody to influence her fashion decisions. She's also bought a lot of stuff for the apartment; a smart TV, DVD player, bookcase, printer, storage containers for her food and organization to help roach-proof the apartment, a couple of books by Anne Bishop that she's been coveting for a long time, a new bed platform so she could get rid of the busted box springs, and some new things for me.

Mommy bought a couple of jackets for me, a denim one for fall and a heavier one for winter. She thinks they are soooo stinkin' adorable on me and insists that I share photos of them on me with you.

In the top two pictures, I'm wearing the same coat. Mommy was impressed by the sizing chart's accuracy and says that if you decide to buy a coat for your pup from Queenmore, you need to focus more on neck and chest girth measurements.

In the bottom two pictures, I'm wearing the denim vest Mommy bought for me. She says that SILD's size chart is also accurate and the vest is really cute; however, if I gain a couple of ounces or grow my hair out, it's going to be a pain to put on. She thinks they could have taken this into account by giving the denim just a little bit of stretch but, overall, she thinks it will make a lovely spring/fall jacket for me.

Also, check out the snuffle mat Mommy bought for me. It's a lotus and I absolutely love it when Mommy breaks up a treat and hides it under the "petals" for me to sniff out. Mommy likes it because I'm not much of a chewer, so it shouldn't get worn out too quickly and since the material is felt, she can wash it and hang it up to dry.

Currently Reading

Mommy is still reading Caitlin's Song by John A. Heldt. She's not too sure about her "Up Next" list as she has promised a couple of authors that she will read and review their books by a specific date; however, she's still waiting to receive copies of the books.

Mommy's been feeling unmotivated lately. We think it's because she's still trying to get her mind around the dog attack and she's been worrying about me. If you've been reading the blog for a while, you know she has periods of time where she just isn't feeling herself, but you also know that she bounces back from them.

Oh yeah, thanks to Uncle Mike for the wonderful pictures of me for this week's "Marvelous Monday" social media images.
